Santa Monica Pet Companies Team Up to Support Local Dog Charity; Healthy Spot to Feature A Dog's Life "Rescue Dog Series"
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2008 -- Healthy Spot, the new upscale and healthy dog retail store in Santa Monica, has teamed up with A Dog's Life Organic Treats to feature a line of Rescue Dog-themed packaging. The first set of packaging will feature rescue dogs from Walk for the Underdog, a local dog rescue organization that supports a large number of LA-based shelters and dog adoption groups. A Dog's Life will be donating portion of proceeds from the Rescue Dog Series to support Walk for the Underdog's efforts.
A Dog's Life, which normally features customers' dogs whose pictures have been submitted to its website, will now include dogs that are either in need of adoption or have been recently adopted. The front of the Rescue Dog Series packaging showcases the dog's name and rescue group, and the back label displays the dog's rescue story and contact information for the rescue organization.
This partnership is part of a larger initiative that Healthy Spot has launched with the non-profit Walk for the Underdog. The non-profit fundraises for 30 dog shelters and rescue organizations. In an effort to help new dog parents get started, Healthy Spot has donated products for adoption starter kits that include educational materials, food, treats and other useful items for adopted dogs.
Healthy Spot has also pioneered the "Make A Change" program at their storefront location in Santa Monica. The program allows customers to round their purchase amount to the nearest dollar and donate their change to the non-profit organization. The small donations collected will make a large impact to shelters and rescue societies trying to place dogs into loving homes.
The Rescue Dog Series was officially unveiled at the recent Walk for the Underdog signature event at the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles, California. This product line is now available exclusively to the public at Healthy Spot's flagship store located on 1110 Wilshire Boulevard at the intersection of 11th Street in Santa Monica, CA.
